Two children were charged after breaking into a pool and vandalizing a school, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office started an investigation after responding to a breaking and entering at the Grantham Pool on Grantham School Road. Multiple items were stolen from the property, deputies say.
Deputies were called to Grantham Middle School two days later after security cameras showed two children throwing cinder blocks from the roof of the school, causing damage to the property. Deputies charged a 12-year-old and 13-year-old in connection with both incidents.
Each child was charged with:
• One count of breaking and/or entering
• One count of larceny pursuant to breaking and/or entering
• Two counts of second-degree trespass
• One count of injury to personal property
